Issues & Positions

1. Energy, Utility Bills & Cost of Living

Rhode Islanders are doing everything right and still getting crushed by electric bills, delivery charges, and rate hikes. I’ll put ratepayers first by demanding full transparency, tougher oversight, and plain-English accountability for every increase. No blank-check energy contracts, no hidden riders, and no politically driven mandates that raise costs without lowering bills. Our energy policy should be reliable, affordable, and honest.

2. Housing Affordability & Everyday Costs

Rents, mortgages, insurance, groceries, and everyday bills are squeezing working families across Rhode Island. You should be able to afford to live here, raise a family here, and retire here. That means expanding workforce housing, reforming zoning where it makes sense, protecting neighborhoods, keeping property taxes in check, and cracking down on the fees, delays, and bad policies that drive costs higher.

3. Jobs, Taxes & Small Business

Our district runs on trades, defense, fishing, ports, tourism, and family-owned businesses, not insider deals and government picking winners and losers. I’ll fight for better-paying local jobs, lower tax pressure, smart regulation, and a business climate that helps employers stay, grow, and hire in Rhode Island. Small businesses do not need more bureaucracy. They need room to compete and succeed.

4. Seniors, Fixed Incomes & Retirement Security

Rhode Island seniors should not be taxed, billed, and priced out of the communities they spent a lifetime helping build. For too many people on fixed incomes, rising property taxes, utility bills, healthcare costs, and insurance premiums are turning retirement into a financial squeeze. I’ll fight for real property tax relief, stronger utility protections, lower out-of-pocket healthcare costs, and policies that help seniors age in place with dignity, security, and independence.

5. Veterans, Military Families & National Security

In a district anchored by Newport and the defense community, supporting veterans, military families, and national security is a duty. I’ll push for faster VA access, stronger benefits, real mental health and transition support, and a stronger link between defense investment and local jobs. I believe in peace through strength, secure borders, and a foreign policy that protects American interests without wasting American lives.

6. Healthcare Access & Hospital and Drug Costs

Rhode Islanders are paying more for healthcare and getting less. I’ll protect Medicare, VA care, and coverage for pre-existing conditions, while going after hospital pricing games, pharmacy middlemen, surprise bills, and the waste that drives up premiums and out-of-pocket costs. Healthcare should work for patients, families, and seniors, not just large systems and insurers.

7. Transportation, Infrastructure & Integrity

From the Washington Bridge to local roads, transit, and broadband, Rhode Islanders are tired of watching money go out while problems stay put. I’ll focus on the infrastructure people actually use, demand real oversight, and require public reporting people can actually understand. Every major project should have a clear budget, timeline, and accountability plan. No more excuses, no more mystery costs, and no more politicians taking victory laps over unfinished work..
