Issues & Positions
1. Energy, Utility Bills & Cost of Living
Rhode Islanders are doing everything right and still getting crushed by RI Energy bills and never‑ending rate hikes. I will fight to put ratepayers first by demanding transparency, blocking blank‑check offshore wind deals, and forcing utilities and regulators to justify every increase. No family should have to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.
2. Jobs, Taxes & Small Business
Our district runs on trades, defense, fishing, ports, tourism, and family‑owned businesses—not lobbyist‑driven mega‑projects. I will focus on better‑paying local jobs, competitive taxes, and cutting red tape so small and family businesses can grow, hire, and stay in Rhode Island instead of moving out for a better deal.
3. Housing Affordability & Everyday Costs
Rents, mortgages, insurance, car payments, and groceries are squeezing working‑ and middle‑class families from every direction. My priority is a simple promise: you should be able to afford to stay in Rhode Island, not be pushed out of it. That means more real workforce housing, fair property taxes, and tough oversight on insurers and lenders who treat Rhode Islanders like ATMs.
4. Veterans, Military Families & National Security
In a district anchored by Newport and the defense community, supporting veterans and military families is not a talking point—it is a duty. I will make sure no one who served gets left behind: faster access to VA care, strong benefits, real mental‑health and transition support, and a foreign policy that keeps our troops strong, our borders secure, and our families safe at home.
5. Healthcare Access & Hospital/Drug Costs
Rhode Islanders are paying more for healthcare and getting less in return. I will work to protect Medicare, VA care, and coverage for pre‑existing conditions, while going after hospital price‑gouging, pharmacy middlemen, junk fees, and surprise bills. Patients—not corporate systems and drug lobbyists—should be at the center of every healthcare decision.
6. Transportation, Infrastructure & Integrity
From the Washington Bridge to local roads, transit, broadband, and “infrastructure” rate hikes, people see money going out but not enough getting fixed. I will push to repair what we actually use first, demand clear public reporting on every major project, and insist that every federal and state dollar is traceable. No more excuses, no more mystery fees—just safe roads, reliable service, and honest numbers.
